Cindy Atchley

Director of Career Services at Pellissippi State Community College.

Cindy is a native Knoxvillian and excluding one year of living in Florida working in a boat manufacturing business, have spent my time in the great state of Tennessee. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee.

The last 30+ years I have worked in the higher education environment. I began my journey at the University of Tennessee where I worked in the Human Resources department. My responsibilities there included interviewing/intake of prospective employees, referring qualified applicants for openings, and overseeing the temporary help pool. I also worked as a job analyst where I evaluated and analyzed existing jobs to determine if the job classification was correct, needed to be changed, or wrote new job descriptions. During part of my tenure, I was responsible for the employee assistance program.

I am the Director of Career Services at Pellissippi State Community College. I’ve been with Pellissippi State for 24 years. Over the years I have had the privilege to collaborate with high school and college faculty, students, parents and businesses to address college/training and workforce needs. I participated in and was trained as a Career Development Facilitator (CDF).

Over the years I’ve been involved in numerous organizations and events including United Way Loaned Executives and Allocations Boards, Character Counts! in Knoxville, Girl Scouts Personnel Committee and Board of Directors, Dogwood Arts Festival, and am currently serving on the Fairview Advisory Board.
